Hi everyone Im from New Jersey and very new to Orchids. I am very much into plants and purchased about 6 orchids awhile ago. One of which is a new mixed species loddiglossa 'Blues' x aclandiae 'Blue Sky' Im not sure what I could be doing wrong but i had it in a south facing window, "not in direct sunlight" I have it sitting in a mixture of moss and bark, and water it when I feel the moss is dry. My problem is the leaves are turning yellow along with a few other of the plants. I'm not sure if Im over watering, although I cant see how?
roughly about every week or every other week depending. I just today moved it into my outside green house to see if it does any better there. Any suggestion or corrections would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Lisa |

You might want to purchase, for $1 each, the Baker's culture sheets for Cattleya lodigesia, and Cattleya aclaniiae ( assuming your plant is slightly mislabelled).
You could then see what these species parents recieve in nature, and try to see what you "should" be doing differently. Baker's linky: http://www.orchidculture.com/ If this were my plant, this would be where I would start! Good luck & let us know your results! |

Lisa, I've had quite a few aclandiae and it's hybrids potted and have generally found that these plants prefer to be mounted if they can be given adequate water and light. Bifoliates can sulk if repotted at the incorrect time(no new roots or growths). I don't know if you've recently repotted?
